For the waterproofing of the concrete slab, the cold-applied self-adhesive rubber/bitumen membrane KÖSTER KSK SY 15 was chosen. Compared to liquid-applied alternatives, this waterproofing solution provides a number of unbeatable advantages, especially when dealing with big areas: low requirement for substrate preparation, fast work progress and immediate waterproofing effect - no waiting time for drying. Minor damage to the membrane is not crucial thanks to the self-healing effect of the rubber/bitumen facing the substrate. Also, any cracking in the substrate is safely bridged. At further project stages, the KÖSTER KSK SY 15 membrane will be considered again.
